Jazz @ Dixie's Roasting Company

We went over to my friend Damien's coffee roasting company, Dixie's, this afternoon. Damien and Candace import their coffee from Free Trade plantations that insure that 70% of the profits from the coffee go back to the farmers. They roast their own beans right there in the coffee house. He is my every morning stop on the way into the office after I drop Gabby off at her babysitter. Dixie's is in a building that has stood in China Grove since about 1904. I will post a picture later that I have of the original owner standing out in front of the shop that was a pharmacy. You can still see the dirt street and the hitching post for horses on the side of the building.
Anyway, he had a local jazz band come into today for an afternoon of music. Stillwaters Jazz Band is an excellent group of musicians who has got a very cool sound. Really enjoyed their music. Traditional Jazz & Blues.
They are an outreach ministry of Stillwaters Church.
