4th of July

I know, I know, I know...a little late on the 4th of July posting.
Our church hosted Concord, NC's Freedom Celebration. It was really good for the 1st annual celebration. We had games, pony rides, bouncing stuff for the children. Tons of carnival type food for everyone. Bluegrass, rock, and contemporary music was blasting at different times all through out the day. We had Tait from DC Talk come in as the headliner.
Here are a few pictures from the day. BTW, Doug you did a great job organizing and MC-ing this event!! Good Job!!

Royal Family Kids Camp

Whew!!
This has been a very busy summer. We just got through working at a youth camp for children that are living in less than desirable circumstances. These are children that Social Services refers for the camp. Last year there were 14 children, this year there was 31 children. They had petting zoos, a carnival, a local fire department showed up with their fire trucks (lots of water and horn blowing), and three of the local sheriff's came in to visit with the children.
Stephanie was the Bible story teacher for the week and I filled in where I was needed. The children had a blast and were able to be and act like children in a safe and fun enviroment. Thank you Tim and Bonnie for all the hard work that you put in for this week, besides being the directors of the retreat. Thank you.
It was truly a touching week.
